Cardinal in Snow
Walnut, holly, padauk, epoxy, M3 metal, pigment
Turned, carved
Wall-mounted
8” x 8” x 1”

Artist’s Note
“A grid system overlies subtle patterns of nature. In my wall piece, the cardinal in the snow is surrounded by a geometry of undeviating lines; two patterns together, the natural world and the man-made.”

Artist Statement
As a maker I am involved in an exploration of materials, methods and form in order to express my personal aesthetic. Inspiration comes from both cultural influences and the natural world with an underlying theme of cultivated design. Using line, texture and contrast I hope to create compositions that celebrate elegance and simple complexity.
