Paul Hedman has been a successful starving artist for most of his life. The urge to create has been with him longer than he can remember. His mother says when he was very young, he would draw small circles all over a piece of paper instead of scribbling. This may explain the strong pull towards the lathe. It was an uncle who first got Paul working with some turning tools and a lathe. But it wasn’t until he joined a local club that the turning world opened wide. His style is way off the beaten path now and Paul is thoroughly enjoying this wild ride.

Donna Zils Banfield has been creating works of art in wood in her Derry, NH studio since 2001. She frequently travels throughout the country, where she is most sought out for teaching her surface embellishment techniques. For more than a decade she has presented at multiple Symposia here and across the Atlantic. Donna has taught at Arrowmont School of Arts and Craft, Marc Adams School of Woodworking, and Snow Farm: The New England Craft School. Her work is held in the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA, the Permanent Collection of the League of NH Craftsmen in Concord, NH and private collections throughout the world. She recently appeared as one of 10 artists featured in a documentary film, ‘A Handmade Life’, which was selected for showing at the 2024 NH Film Festival. This film also appeared on PBS in 2025.
