This piece is inspired by the traditional Japanese Oryoki. Originally used by Buddhist monks, the name means "vessel that contains just enough,' and was a compact collection of nesting vessels for one person. This urushi-lacquered set is not only beautiful, but also functional. The central mass is a chopstick rest. For a small set of vessels, it will have many uses.

Comes with presentation box, as shown.

A lacquer artist and woodturner based in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Eiko studied under Torao Nakashima and handles all aspects of the work by herself, from wood turning to lacquer painting. With her unique sensibility, she creates beautiful works that capture the dual nature of phenomena.
