The inspiration for Dali's Bubbles resulted from a visit a few years ago, to the Dali Theatre and Museum in Figures, Spain, Salvador Dali's home town. There, the experience is a deep immersion within Dali's world of surrealism, his "space between" fantasy and reality. A prolific painter, one of Dali's paintings, Galatea of the Spheres, left a lasting impression on me, eventually leading to the idea for this piece. J. Paul Fennell has been a woodturner for over 50 years. and has focused on the expressiveness of hollow forms since the late 1980s. He currently resides in the beautiful Sonoran Desert in Scottsdale, Arizona. Paul has been member of the AAW since 1986, and has been a featured demonstrator at annual symposiums numerous times, a workshop teacher and a featured demonstrator for schools, local clubs and international conferences for many years.

Paul's work has been featured in over 25 major woodturning books, magazines and exhibit catalogs. His work resides in major private collections nationally and internationally, and in several museum collections, which include the Smithsonian, Washington, DC; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Philadelphia Museum of Art; Detroit Institute of Arts; Minneapolis Institute of Arts; Cincinnati Art Museum; Museum of Art & Design, New York; the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh and the Peabody-Essex Museum, Salem, Massachusetts Website jpaulfennell.com Instagram arizona_wood_artist
