Wobble Form, 2025
Corrugated cardboard, mahogany, paint
6 x 4.5 x 4.5 inches | 15.2 x 11.4 x 11.4 cm

A hollowed and closed paraboloid form on a wobble base, created with a laminated corrugated cardboard. The texture of the corrugations creates a distinct experience with light and shadow that changes in appearance with each viewing angle. From most angles the form will appear closed and painted. From other angles the form will appear open and see through. The playful wobble nature and high contrast paint treatment encourage interaction with the object.
Jason Schneider is a studio artist who works with traditional woodworking processes in non-traditional materials to create unique three-dimensional objects. His work reveals the inherent beauty and character of corrugated cardboard in both functional and sculptural forms. The research into the fine use and function of this low-status, recyclable, and often overlooked material drives his curiosity.
