In February 2026 there were 68,289 people in ICE detention. On an average day about 170 of them are children. The detention conditions are unsafe, unsanitary and inhumane. Detainees are subject to violence and often have no access to legal counsel, sufficient food, clean water, or medical treatment.
These people came from all over the world to find a better life for themselves and their children, or to escape horrific conditions in their own countries. Many have been here for decades. Many were born here.
Each vessel represents roughly 1100 humans currently in detention in the land of the free. (Scale model fencing: Taymin Kane (Grime City))

“There must have been a time, in the beginning, when we could have said – no. But somehow we missed it. Oh well, we'll know better next time.” (Tom Stoppard -- Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead)
It is impossible to ignore what is happening around us. There may not be a next time. We must use what voice we have, while we can, to say no.
