Maple Bowl no. 2561,
Maple, tung oil
4 x 10 x 9.5 inches

This bowl is part of my exploration of form and movement in green wood. It was turned from wet maple, burnished on the lathe and then quickly dried in a microwave before being worked further. The tool marks and burnished surface give a brief history of the process and suggest the hands involved in the making. As a service bowl, this piece is meant to be picked up, used, and enjoyed daily.
