Collected and found turned wood elements
6 x 6 x 6 inches | 15.24 x 15.24 x 15.24 cm

This was meant to be a formalist exercise in cropping. It was meant to be easy. Who knew there was so much empty space inside a 6"
cube? Imaginary or not. A wire cube made it clear that my supply of found and collected spheres was going to be taxed.
My vision shifted from an exterior of silhouettes, to a comment made by a viewer of an early model, "All these versions of earth elements stuffed into a cube make me think I'm being Invited to calmness and stillness; no matter how little room there is."

Steve Loar's career spans four decades as an educator, an arts administrator, woodturner, author, and sculptor.
